Introduction
Founded in 2011 Rumble Entertainment focuses on developing content for web browsers, mobile devices and social networks.
I joined the Kings Road team as a UI Artist to support the new feature development and weekly releases.
Business Goals
At the time, Kings Road had been out for quite a few years. Initially developed for web, and ported for support on mobile as well, the team’s main goal was to create weekly events and content.
Target Audience
Deeply invested players who have been playing Kings Road for a few years, and also potential new players who are interested in strategy and RPG elements that are typically found in more hardcore PC and console games.
New Feature: Mode Selection
For endgame players, the content is more focused towards deathmatch player vs. player events. The intent of the feature was to support this initiative and provide players with easy access. We wanted to create a good experience during matchmaking and battling.
Deathmatch
This screen will highlight event descriptions and leaderboard, as well as rewards for the top ranking players.
Waiting Room
After selecting the mode, players are placed in queue until all participants are ready. Game will start automatically after a short amount of time.
Deathmatch Results
After battle is completed, players are ranked in order of their total score. Scores are calculated based off of kills and deaths. The top players receive prizes.
Advanced Heroes.
In Kings Road, there are three main classes: warrior, mage, and archer. In order to give more content, and allow players with new types of competitive play, we explored the idea of advanced classes. Each main class will have two additional roles with modified hero abilities.
Paladin advanced class with holy defender abilities.
Berserker advanced class that is a bruiser type that focuses on physical attacks.
Hunter advanced class with trapping and familiar abilities.
Demon Hunter advanced class that focuses on accuracy and physical damage.
Wizard advanced class with support abilities.
Dragon Familiars.
Each player is able to equip a dragon pet that provides additional battle damage. The dragons are based off the core elements and come with their own set of abilities. Dragons provide a significant boost in damage and battle advantage.
Dragon soul stone sketches.
Feature that allows dragons to equip soul stones, similar to the hero equipment screen.

Ability icons for the shadow elemental dragons.
